David Kats: Hi. This is David Kats and Dr. Michael Perusich with KATS Consultants and we have a tip for you. We find that chiropractors tend to do best, those who have a special niche or a special calling, something you like to specialize in. Now, you can’t say you are specializing in something unless you’ve really have special training, but you can say we have emphasis on in our clinic. For instance, you can say, “I have emphasis on weight loss in our clinic.” What are some of the niches that you think about when you think about a niche for chiropractic.
Dr. Michael Perusich: There are so many of them, pediatrics would be one. You can have a pediatric certification, fellowship in pediatrics. Decompression has become a big one where clinics specialize in decompression therapy. Sports, that’s another great big one.
David: You think about any revenue center and somebody has made it their niche. For instance, we have a client that does $500,000 a year in weight loss and body materials, doing things to help your body nutritionally. We have another guy that has a person working with him that does $500,000 in weight loss alone. I’m trying to think of all the different ones that we have, but we have some people who do 400,000 spinal decompression by themselves.
If you have a niche or something that you like to do, chances are, you should explore that and see if it can turn into something major for your clinic. Maybe you have to decide on what you have for a niche. You want to decide, maybe you’re naturally good at something. Maybe you are a professional athlete, or then probably, sports is your niche. Maybe there is something that you really have just a real strong interest in that you would like to make as your niche. If you have something that you concentrate on and make that your niche inside your clinic, chances are, you’re going to do a little better.
Dr. Michael: You are going to do well and it’s also going to keep practice really, really interesting for you as well. It’s going to keep you ahead of the game.
David: That’s exactly right. If you can spend 50 day of your time planning something that you really like to do, one of our doctors does a really good job with nutrition, does a wonderful job with nutrition, probably the best one in the United States and he loves it. He keeps his head in the game simply because he loves it that much.
Dr. Michael: That’s right.
