Hi, this is Dave Kats and Mike Perusich with Kats Consultants and we have a tip for you.

Today I want to talk about getting reviews. That is, the reviews on the internet. If you’re under 70 years old, you look for reviews on the internet. If I’m going to go buy a car, I look for a review, if I’m going to buy a new piece of electronic equipment, I look for a review, if I’m going to buy a chainsaw, I look for a good review. Everybody’s looking for a review. You have to have good reviews. You personally, your office has to have good reviews on the internet.

Where do you get your reviews from? You can have patients give you reviews, you can have family give you reviews, you can have staff give you reviews, colleagues can give you reviews. Reviews are very easy to do. Right now, they can be done as of about a year ago, they can be done on handheld devices. If you have an Android phone, it already comes downloaded with Google Maps. All you have to do is a step to google your business. When you find your business, scroll down and it’ll say, “Write a review.”

It’ll have five stars. You just have your patient hit that five stars and they’ll write whatever they want under there and hit submit. The review is done.

Mike perusich: They can do it right there while they’re in your office.

Dave: That’s exactly it. In fact, we have some doctors that have a lot of reviews.

Mike: We’ve got some doctors who have really been using this a lot lately to attract new patients and build that pervasive internet presence like we always talk about. Just a couple of years ago, even some of our doctors had zero, or very few, and today they’ve got 60 and more.

Dave: I’m thinking before we started on camera here, we were talking about one of our clients went from zero to 60 reviews in about two years. It’s really made a difference in the practice, too. By the way, there’s a sweet spot. If you can get over 15 reviews, 12 to 15, but I want to be safe and say over 15 reviews, then Google sees you as a more active business, and they will rate you higher. I would really encourage you to do reviews. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. You’re afraid you don’t know how to do it. Do it a few times and then you can ask anybody of your friends, colleagues, family, patients to do it. You’ll get good reviews and it will make a difference in the number of new patients you get.
